We introduced Esthetics, Full Specialist training, advanced beauty programs, and expanded services, so our original name no longer reflected the full student experience. BellaKy Academy represents a fresh, modern, and more inclusive identity that matches the level of education we provide. To become a certified nail technician in Florida, you must: Be at least 16 years old Complete 240 hours of training at a Florida Board of Cosmetology–approved school (BellaKy Academy — formerly The Academy of Nail Careers) Pass the Florida Nail Specialty Examination, which includes both the written and practical portions Submit your application and fees to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) to receive your Nail Specialist license This process ensures you are fully prepared, trained, and qualified to begin your career as a licensed nail technician in the state of Florida. To become a certified Facial Specialist (Esthetician) in Florida, you must: Be at least 16 years old Complete 220 hours of Facial Specialist training at a Florida Board of Cosmetology–approved school (BellaKy Academy — formerly The Academy of Nail Careers) Receive a certificate of completion confirming you’ve met Florida’s required hours Submit your application and fees to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) to receive your Facial Specialist license/registration (Florida does not require a written or practical state exam for Facial Specialists) This process ensures you are properly trained, educated, and qualified to begin your career as a licensed Facial Specialist in the state of Florida.
